Avery Cohn leads food and agriculture activities at ClimateWorks as well as the Healthy Diets/Healthy Planet workstream of the Climate and Land Use Alliance, a grantmaking strategy promoting a future for protein consistent with climate and development goals. Avery joined ClimateWorks in 2019, following over 15 years of research and policy work on a food system compatible with a livable climate. During the period, Avery served as a professor at Tufts University, where he retains an affiliation, advised international organizations, and held additional roles at Stanford, Brown, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. Avery holds a B.S. from the University of California Davis, a master’s from the Yale School of Forestry, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
