Jide Ikeako

Director, Africa Program, Global Energy Transition Initiative

    Jide is an experienced policy advisor, financier and former public officer. He leads the Africa Program of our Global Energy Transition Initiative and has extensive experience in policy, investments and public-private partnerships, having represented stakeholder and government interests on various boards and interventions.

    While in public office he was responsible for overseeing a multi-million-dollar investment portfolio and driving investment strategy and policy for a sub-national government. He has been a representative at forums such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) among others.

    Prior to this he held key private sector positions including Chief Executive of LJ Capital Terranova, and was a private equity analyst for Africa opportunities at Millennium Global Investments, a US$18 billion alternative asset manager based in London and Geneva, Switzerland. His public and private sector roles have allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the policy landscape and structuring impact investments.

    Jide holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Oxford University, where he was awarded a Chevening Scholarship by the government of the United Kingdom. He also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science. Jide is currently based in the United Kingdom.
