Rebecca Dell testifies before U.S. Congress on the CLEAN Future Act
ClimateWorks’ Industry Program Director, Dr. Rebecca Dell, will testify on March 18, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. PDT, before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change hearing on the CLEAN Future Act: Industrial Climate Policies to Create Jobs and Support Working Families.
The bill establishes a Buy Clean family of policies that sets performance targets to steadily reduce emissions from federal projects. Dr. Dell will share background on Buy Clean; outline why it’s important for addressing bipartisan concerns – like national competitiveness; and share complementary actions that Congress can take to accelerate progress in American manufacturing.
“We all know that we need major national infrastructure investment. Climate change will only increase the need for infrastructure, from wind turbines to flood control systems. Buy Clean is a family of policies that use these investments to transform construction and heavy industry,” said Dr. Dell in her written testimony.
