Sebastian Castellanos

Associate Director, Emerging Economies, Drive Electric Campaign

    Sebastian is the Associate Director, Emerging Economies, at the Drive Electric Campaign where he oversees the implementation of the campaign’s emerging economics strategy. Sebastian’s expertise lies at the nexus of sustainable mobility, new technologies, climate change, and governance. He has supported governments around the world as they transition to low- and zero-carbon modes of transportation.

    Before joining ClimateWorks, Sebastian worked for almost a decade at the World Resources Institute, where he led multiple projects and teams focusing on electric and shared mobility, including topics such as electric transit and school buses, and shared e-bikes and e-scooters.

    In addition to his work at ClimateWorks, Sebastian is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Leeds, where he is looking at the role of governance and regulation in shared mobility. Sebastian holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia), a master’s degree (Project Management and Technology) from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne (France) and an MSc. in Transport Planning and the Environment, from the Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds (UK).
