Sara Dermody is Manager of Operations, Philanthropic Partnerships, where she manages key elements of the department’s stewardship, funder/prospect proposals and reporting activities; overseeing, and leading the Development team’s work with the Program and Finance teams to track and report grant-related activity. She also identifies opportunities to streamline processes to support the Development and Program teams in achieving fundraising goals.
Sara spent the last five and a half years at the San Francisco Foundation in the Philanthropic Advising and Fundraising team, leading the transition from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce CRM for the organization, as well as process improvement across the Finance, Program, and Development departments. Prior to the San Francisco Foundation, she spent four years working in fundraising at museums around the bay area including the Museum of Craft and Design, the DeYoung, the Legion of Honor, and the Oakland Museum of California.
Sara received bachelor’s degrees in History, Anthropology and Sociology with an emphasis on Archaeology from the University of Redlands, and a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester in England.
After hearing Al Gore speak on his documentary on the Inconvenient Truth at her University and reading Living Green: A Practical Guide to Simple Sustainability, she has always strived to live as green as possible. She is excited to finally mesh her personal interests with her professional career.
