Debbie is the Legal Director at ClimateWorks Foundation and oversees the organization’s internal legal needs, including its Enterprise Risk Management work to minimize the organization’s legal exposure and risk.   Prior to ClimateWorks, Debbie had a well-established a career as a nonprofit legal executive having served for 7 years as the General Counsel of a national conservation nonprofit, The Wilderness Society, and for 8 years as General Counsel of People For the American Way and its 501(c)(3) affiliate, People For the American Way Foundation, focusing on constitutional rights and liberties.  Debbie obtained her B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of California Los Angeles and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law.
