Jwala Rambarran

Distinguished Fellow, Sustainable Finance

    Jwala Rambarran is a Distinguished Fellow of the Sustainable Finance Program at ClimateWorks Foundation. He supports the grantmaking strategy of the Sustainable Finance Program, particularly the role of governments in shifting and mobilizing public finance to speed up a global and just green transition, and in new areas such as adaptation finance, loss and damage and nature-based finance.

    Jwala brings three decades of experience working on international finance and sustainable development, including a past Governorship of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as a role as an Advisor to the Executive Director of the Brazilian Constituency to the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Executive Board. Jwala is currently a member of the Task Force on Climate, Development and the IMF, a global consortium of experts advocating for a development-friendly approach to climate change at the IMF.

    Jwala holds the prestigious certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and received his Masters in Financial Economics from the University of London.
