Mary Raftery

Senior Advisor

    Mary Raftery joined ClimateWorks Foundation in 2013, standing up and staffing flagship collaborations among philanthropies funding climate mitigation globally, including the Funders Table. Mary leads the Funder Collaborations department to strategically manage a suite of best-in-class collaborations that support climate funders to increase individual and collective impact.

    Mary has more than 25 years of experience with organizational leadership and change management, developing and sustaining innovative collaborations, strategic planning, consulting, and executive coaching – specializing in supporting transformative growth and change in mission-based programs, coalitions, and start-ups. Mary is a natural “connector” and in her previous work, she developed and strengthened strategic new cross-discipline programs and campaigns, as well as innovative “unusual ally” collaborative efforts in local and international organizations, including at Stanford University, Stanford Institute for Creativity and the Arts, Environment California, California Certified Organic Farmers, and the BlueGreen Alliance.

    Mary holds a B.A. with honors in International Relations from Brown University. She grew up living in National Parks across the U.S., has been a meditation practitioner on several continents, and serves on the board of trustees for Green Century Funds, the first family of mutual funds to divest from fossil fuels.
